What is Foreman Certification?

The collective bargaining agreement of IBEW local 48 has language requiring foreman certification, for those people that are acting as foremen in our jurisdiction. In addition, much of the required training will benefit all workers in the electrical industry.

What does Foreman Certification require?

3.12.01. It is the intent of the industry to train all foreman and general foreman, which will require approximately 44 hours of training on electrical safety, CPR, first aid, drug awareness, diversity, steward, the code of excellence, as well as NECA supervisory training to reach the certified classification of foreman. After April 30, 2002, newly appointed foremen or foremen traveling from another jurisdiction with their employer will have four months to complete their training through the next available class to receive their foreman certification.

How can I receive and verify my Foreman Certification?

The NECA-IBEW electrical Training Center offers all of these classes on a regular basis to provide IBEW members the needed training in all of the area´s mentioned. Contact the training center to see what your status is.
